Who is to replace henry ?

So Henry has left to go to Barcelona and now we have to replace him with someone, But who ?

We have been linked to plenty of strikers including Babel, Anelka, Owen, Bent, Adriano (no thanks), Huntelaar, Torres and god knows who else.

We need to get someone in to replace the outbound Henry and pretty fast aswell. Although the likes of Robin Van Persie and Adebayor will do ok for us in the coming season, we just dont have enough quality up front say if one gets a major injury for example. We have to buy someone and that is a fact.

My personal choice would be to go for Huntelaar as he has the quality that he has proved in holland and also has the age on his side aswell. He could be a very good signing for us if it did happen but maybe the only thing that is putting Wenger off is the so called £15m that Ajax want for him.

The favourite so far is Anelka from Bolton and he would be a good signing for us at £8m-£10m as he still has the quality and he has proved this in the premiership before, but its whether or not he has sorted his attitude out since his early days at Arsenal which was mainly due to his money-grabbing brothers, which he has since dropped as agents.

It looks like it is going to be Anelka from what alot of reports are saying and to be honest it would not be a bad thing as he is still a very good player and the price isnt exactly massive either.
It looks like Charlton think that its April fools day or something !, £18m for Darren Bent !?, Henry for £16m !?, I know which one i would choose thats for sure. Good player but not worth that sort of money in a million years.
Torres - Liverpool bound ?, Adriano - Cack ?, Owen - injuries ?.
It looks like Anelka could be coming back to Arsenal then if you believe all the reports as im sure we wont go for either, Owen or Adriano due to injuries and stupid wage demands etc and there is no way that Arsene will spend £25m + on Torres but he could be tempted to give them Reyes as part of the deal. We will just have to wait and see.

Good post my friend. The media has been pretty quick to relate us with every striker on earth but I personally feel Arsene is not going to go in for a big buy. Taking the Vieira - Fabregas incident for example.

It'll hopefully be Nicklas or Walcott :)

I hope we can replace Henry with a quality striker. However, we will never be able to replace Henry directly. Its impossible. Henry is one of a kind. People have come close and people say that players are "Henry like" but they can never pull of a piece of magic out of that like Thierry Henry could for us.

I would love to see Huntelaar in an Arsenal shirt. The price may pose a problem but him and Babel up front alongside RVP if we use a 4-3-3 would be a good attack on paper.
Im hoping Wenger signs a replacement before pre-season to allow them a chance to gel with the team.

We simply have to buy at least 2 strikers to fill the gap left by Henry. Anelka would be ideal, he's similar to Henry in terms of Pace and Finishing. Huntelaar would also be an excellent addition and give us something different - mainly a goal-poacher which we desperately lacked last season. Im confident Arsene will get the right players and he wont let us down.

we need a striker or two to replacehim, i thinkl anelka would od the job but tevez would also get the hang of it.

it will be hard if we try to get both as we have rvp who is looking to be in the 1st team starters list.

i would like tevez more than anelka.

What comes around goes back around. Henry brought in to replace Anelka, Anelka brought back to replace Henry?
I think he deserves a 2nd chance and we as fans deserve to see what he is truly capable of after 11 long years. I hope we sign him and Wenger get the best out of him.

anelka is a good player

but huntelaar is much better IMO

AW shud only buy anelka if he doesn't get huntelaar

But price really shudn't be a problem since after selling reyes we'll have close to 70 million pounds to spare

after that if AW complains about 15 million, thats either his inner accountant acting or his inner miser acting
