For the past 3 seasons we have watched Robin Van Persie, and been absolutely amazed with the talent that he possesses. His lethal left foot, hes ability to dribble, pass, shoot, and most importantly, score.
But with the departure of former club captain Thierry Henry, the biggest question that every Arsenal fan asks about RvP is: "Will he be able to step up to the plate and become Arsenal's number one striker?"
I think he can.
He has the talent, and 34 goals and 10 assists in 110 appearances in an Arsenal shirt isn't bad for a 23 year old. In fact, it is very impressive. And the quality of the goals as well! (The goal against Blackburn, where he curled it past the keeper from the bar line will stay in my memory for a long time). Also, last season he was our top scorer with 13 goals. That is a very decent tally considering he broke his foot scoring the equaliser against Man United at home. This boy is ready to fly, and as long as he stays fit I believe we have our 20+ goal scorer a season without even looking into the transfer market.

Completely agree with you.
After Henrys departure the only person I can see who can hold the mantle is Robin Van Persie. He clearly has got the ability. His 3 seasons at the club have been sensational and we have seen him grow from stride to stride and become a world class player last season.
Expect the arsenal play to gradually shift to the right side more than the common left we were used to seeing in the last 6 years.
RVP will prove his metal.
I think he can, but I dont think we should risk it with just the strikers we have now. RVP has been a joy to watch over the past 3 seasons but at times he lacks that finishing touch which we need in order to progress.
Definately a first choice striker for us though.
van persie can do what henry did for us, he just needs to get the first team spot and support from his team mates and he will shine
if we r talking abt number of goals, in the absence of Henry he can definitely.coz, he will get much more chances.Persie has a hell of lot talent and can score impossible golas.but, the phisical presence of henry was something different.take a look of the goal of Henry against blackburn.he can connect the game so well.i don't think any arsenal striker is needed to score amazing goals.our midfield can penetrate and destroy any defence.i think we need one good finisher.some one who can convert atleast half one on one chances.one more thing i don't think i have ever seen persie scoring from crosses.some time we need a striker gud in air.i know we r gonna see ATLEAST 20+ goals from persie next season, no doubt abt it.but, there is always a BUT...
van persie is a good finisher
and he has 20+ goals in him without a doubt
and right now he and fabregas are our only established free kick takers
i look forward to seeing him and walcott lead the line with adebayor and bendtner acting as target men
also RVP can play as LWM if needed
This is his chance to shine
and i pray that he doesn't get injured(same goes for all arsenal players)
Hes too injury prone, therefore he will never be a higher tier player
